AECL’s Chief Nuclear Officer, Bill Pilkington, provides an overview of the Operations Strategy developed at Chalk River Laboratories to develop and perform the NRU repair. He explains the fact that within a nuclear facility, there is no room for trial and error, so any processes developed are driven down to the greatest level of detail. Pilkington gives viewers the opportunity to see “the world’s best experts” working on the NRU reactor vessel in order to ready it for the band weld repair technique.
