Building on the Operations Strategy, Tina Shorter, AECL’s Manager Resourcing & Training, outlines the extent to which the organization is training its employees on the use of the NRU repair tooling. Teams of employees, who will be deployed on a 24 hour, 7 day rotation, must learn to operate the tools remotely, 30 feet from the repair site, depending solely on cameras to guide the band weld application. Shorter explains how training and pre-training is essential to ensure we are ready to succeed and ready to maximize the NRU return to service schedule.
